What you need for getting Google Assistant on your Android Nougat 7.0 phone:

Getting Android on your Nougat 7.0 is easy, if you are comfort with tweaking. If not, then its better to avoid it. In android , there is a file called build.prop which includes a lot of information about your phone. All you need is tweaking that build.prop file.

Why tweaking?? We all know that Official version runs on only pixel mobiles as of now. After tweaking, when the program asks “ What phone are you??” Simply mobile responds as Google Pixel.

Methods for getting Official Google Assistant:

There are two methods for getting Assistant in Your phone.

Method 1: Editing build.prop file directly and requires root access.

Editing

If you want to edit build.prop file, you must require root access. After that you required an root file editor that allows you to edit root files. Solid Explorer is one of the best choices for editing root files.Be sure that before proceeding to this method, rooting your phone will void warranty and will make your phone vulnerable to viruses. Once you have root access, this tweak is easy. Simply follow these steps:

1.Open Solid Explorer.

2.If you haven’t enabled root storage, slide out the left-hand panel and tap the settings gear icon. Scroll to the bottom and enable “Show root storage.” Exit settings.

3. Slide out the left-hand navigation panel and tap Root

4. Scroll down and tap System.

5.Scroll down and tap “build.prop”

6.Open the file using SE Text Editor.

7.Find the line that reads ro.product.model=[YOUR DEVICE] and replace it with the following: ro.product.model=Pixel XL

8.Add the following on its own line: ro.opa.eligible_device=true

9.Save and exit the file.

10.Reboot your device.

After this , reboot your phone so that now you will be able to use official version of Google’s Assistant.

Method 2. Flash a .ZIP file that is responsible for tweaking and in this method, you don’t required any kind of root access.

XDA user FaserF created some handy flashable .zip files that you can use if you don’t want to root your phone. Avoiding root may be handy if you want to get early updates through the Android Beta Program. You can either use a custom recovery to flash the .zip files, or use fastboot to do so from your computer. We’ll show you how to do it with a custom recovery, but the method you use is up to you.

  1. XDA user mjp93 recommends uninstalling the Google app entirely before proceeding with this method.

  2. Download the three .zip files provided by XDA and copy them to your phone’s internal storage.

  3. Reboot your phone into recovery mode.

  4. Tap or navigate to Install in your custom recovery. For the popular TWRP recovery, Install will be a large gray button on the first screen you see in recovery.

  5. Install GoogleAssistantVelvet.zip

  6. Install GoogleAssistantBuildProp.zip

  7. Reboot your phone.

Once your phone reboots, you’ll need to manually give it permission to use things like your microphone by heading to the Apps section of your Settings app. From there, find Google, then tap Permissions and enable the necessary permissions. Once again, long-press the home button to bring up Assistant.
